Prof. Dr. Georg von Wangenheim, University of Kassel Seminar Director
Prof. Dr. Wangenheim is the former Dean and a senior faculty member at the Faculty of Economics, University of Kassel. Over the years he served in various academic positions and is currently the Vice-President of the German Law and Economics Association. His academic degrees are both in Law and in Economics, two fields which he taught at several German and international Universities. He is one of the Directors of Blockchain-center.eu and involved in several research projects on blockchain.
Prof. Yaad Rotem, College of Law and Business
Yaad Rotem is an Associate Professor of Law at the College of Law & Business in Ramat Gan, Israel (CLB) School of Law, and formerly (2015-2018) Dean of the Law School. He holds an LL.B. (1998, magna cum laude) and a B.A. in economics (1998) from the University of Haifa, and an LL.M. (2000) and LL.D. (2005) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, completing his doctorate under the supervision of Professor Zohar Goshen. He served as a law clerk for Justice Dalia Dorner of the Supreme Court of Israel in 1999, and as a senior law clerk for the Justice in the years 2000-2002. He also served as a special consultant to the Israeli State Commission of Inquiry into the Government’s Treatment of Holocaust Survivors (2008). During the 2011-2012 academic year Yaad was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Between the years 2012 and 2015 he served as vice dean of the CLB Law School. His areas of research and expertise include corporate law, corporate bankruptcy law, and private international law (conflict of laws). In recent years, Yaad has also gained much experience in the practice of law, advising law firms and representing clients in high-profiled litigation cases.
Dr. Daniel Goldstein, Sanford T. Colb & Co.
Dr. Goldstein is a senior patent attorney at Sanford T. Colb & Co. He is a licensed attorney in Israel and licensed to practice before the Israel and US patent offices. His work includes patent prosecution in various fields, including medical devices, mechanical devices, software and others. He received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University, and an LLB from the College of Law & Business.

Prof. Gal Raz, Professor of Business , Ivey Business School and Western University
Prof. Raz is a Professor of Business at Ivey Business Schol and the former Dean of CLB Business School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Cum Laude, and two Masters as well as a Ph.D. from Stanford University. His research has been published in leading academic journals. Prior to his current role, he was an associate professor at the Darden Graduate School of Business at UVA and the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW) in Sydney. He also taught at other leading business schools such as Kellogg school of management, Stanford GBS, and the Israeli institute of technology. Both prior to his career in academia and since joining it, Prof. Raz was involved in numerous consulting projects with many leading companies in Australia, the United States and Israel.
Dr. Sigal Ribon, The Bank of Israel
Dr. Ribon professional career at the Bank of Israel started over 30 years ago as a research assistant, and over the years she served as a senior economist in the field of monetary analysis, when in 2008, she was appointed as the head of the Current Monetary Analysis Unit, and in 2016 to her current position as the Head of the Monetary Policy Division in the Research Department. As part of her work, Dr. Ribon has dealt with issues concerning the conduct of monetary policy, and has published studies regarding monetary policy transmission mechanisms and the effect of monetary policy on the economy, prices, inflation, and the housing market. In 2017 she was appointed to lead an inter-departmental Bank team to study the issue of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). The team published its report in November 2018. Dr. Ribon holds a BA and an MA in Economics and Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Economics, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Dr. Mendel holds 16 approved patents in the area of cybersecurity. His career in cybersecurity is a unique mixture of broad practical experience and research expertise. His practice included extensive involvement in cybersecurity offensive projects, research and development, business development and product management. Proven worldwide track records in secure operating systems, digital rights management (DRM), security certification (CC, FIPS, EMV), penetration test, reverses engineering, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT security and Smart Grid cybersecurity. His academic research topics includes: economic perspective of cybersecurity attacks, Quantum, MPC, FHE, Blockchain technology with a special focus on cybersecurity attacks, privacy issues and business continuation under cyber-attack.
